Unknown Soldier
Verse 1
I cannot not feel my legs, think they may be blown away
Its numb below the chest, as crimson pools on clay
Moments ago, whistles blow, adrenalin pumps through veins
Scenes appalling, fellows falling, for a miserly metre gain
Chorus

Verse 2

Under blue sky man has greyed, I hear humanity slayed
A tempest takes a petal, is blown upon a gust
Machinery sprays metal, what grows reduced to dust
Chorus
I never believed it would be me
Lost in the dirt of obscurity
Verse 3

Seared earth a final bed, no last rites to be said
Brothers, with whom I fought, in mutual carnage caught
For what we strived, so many died, now it seems for nought
Chorus 2
Though forgotten, here I cease
I shall never rest in peace
I shall never rest
I……

Unknown Soldier
