Renaissance
Verse 1
Been lost for a while, castaway, all at sea
An unsuspecting pilgrim in a changed reality
The unseen wind of fate, blew me from my course
Onto new horizons, yielding to its force
Beyond the voice of ego an old companion I did find
Whose wisdom long forgotten, lost in my cluttered mind
For a year of seasons we’d laugh, weep, reminisce
Clutched from claws of fear, into a state of bliss
Verse 2
This unexpected journey, what lessons have I learned?
Some things we should treasure, some bridges should be burned
Unknown is the morrow, be present in the now
Time we cannot borrow, be careful what you vow
Beware sweet siren voices, temptation power lust
A forever feast of choices that always decay to dust
In a mirror maze of illusion, wandering lost and blind
The truth is very simple, we just make it hard to find
Verse 3
Fictions I created, anchor chains of the past
Fears for a future, time has yet to cast
Joy in simple pleasures, painful self-inflicted blow
What you reap in measures, be mindful what you sow
We are all in different dreams, mine is not to judge
Seldom things are what they seem, let go of a grudge
There is peace in meditation, turn down the volume dial
Seek rest oh weary soul, never forget your smile
