IỆU THỊ TRINH

Verse 1
Innocence, lost as a child
Forgiven, for being so wild
In defiance you would not bow your head
Mesmerised, by the words you said

Chorus 1
I want to ride the wind
I want to walk the waves
Slay whales in the Eastern sea
Why should behave like a slave
I will clean up the frontier
Save my people from drowning in tears
The power of my battle screams
Will forever haunt their dreams

Verse 2
Memories that will never fade
Are avenged, put to the blade
Suicide,  to the water retreat
Legend, there’s no defeat

Chorus 2
I’d like to ride the storms
Kill sharks in the open sea
Drive out those who aggress
Reconquer the country
Undo serfdoms ties
Let no man compromise
They try to deny, I stand tall
You will forever hear my call

IỆU THỊ TRINH

This song was another inspired by an OMD song Maid of Orleans.

Whilst researching a topic I came across Lady Triệu, and reference to the Vietnamese Joan of Arc.

You can read her amazing story up through the links above.
